TJ, I am a regular reader of your forum, though I have not posted here. If I understand you correctly you expect the United States to continue its deficit spending until there is a financial collapse in about 7 - 15 years. Since the Federal Government has unlimited taxing authority, what is to prevent us from simply raising taxes, say, to levels that existed in the 1950s under Eisenhower. The debt could then be paid down in an orderly way and your proposed calamity averted. As Churchill said, "The United States always does the right thing, but only after trying everything else." I really enjoy your forum. Stsimon
