I have said this often, the messenger is a problem with the Republican party. But the message is also a problem. What is the Republican party message. hear the right wing say that Obama failed to provide leadership. How many times have we heard Boehner say that Obama does not negotiate with him and that "he is out busy campaigning." Boehner needs to first address the dissensions withing his party caucus first before he can even begin to expect that Obama should call him and negotiate. We all know that early on the White House and Boehner reached aggreements and when Boehner took it back to his House caucus, they not only rejected the agreement outright, but even his Speakership was threatened. There is Eric Canto waiting in the wings to bump him off. Simple minds like moi want to know sort of a opposition party is this.
