I have a dance partner who was "date raped" and kept the baby. Loves the kid, of course. I don't see the moral choice in "except for rape and incest." If you consider abortion murder, then "murder is murder." It's a "cop out" to me.

Are you sure about that???? I'm not Catholic, but I have a good friend who is. He does not believe that killing an innocent unborn baby is ever an okay thing to do. That is correct, and if they thought it was an okay thing to do, then the woman would not need special forgiveness. You see the woman is allowed to decide to do the abortion even if it is a sin. And if her heart was in deep grief for the rape she can be forgiven. However there is no special forgiveness if she simply aborts for convenience.
