A douche / ' d u? ? / is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself.

Douche usually refers to vaginal irrigation, the rinsing of the vagina, but it can also refer to the rinsing of any body cavity. A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching—a bag for holding the fluid used in douching. To avoid transferring intestinal bacteria into the vagina, the same bag must not be used for an enema and a vaginal douche.

No comment....FYI...

This is the article about the rape. On the 2nd page, 2nd paragraph, she is quoted as saying on the stand at his trial, "I was made pregnant by this animal," a blonde, 35-year-old actress, her disgust tinged by sorrow.

I'm quite sure that if it was possible to have "cleaned up her body so that sperm would not have had to impregnate her." She would have. I imagine she spent a lot of time trying to "clean" her body after being violently raped.

If so, they would have cleaned up her body so that sperm would not have had to impregnate her.

Doesn't work that way. Sperm can swim. Douching is not an effective method of birth control. What you can use is the morning-after pill to prevent the fertilized egg from implanting in the womb, which happens a few days after conception.

I don't know very much about this subject, but surely she reported this immediately and recieved medical help and an examination.

With all due respect, you sound like a female version of Rep. Akin. Without outrage, I must say that's ignorant.

One would have to douche with an anti spermicid right away and even then it might not work. If you don't use an spermicid then you may actually help the sperm to swim to the egg and actually increase the likelihood of a pregnancy.
