We enjoy life style that even kings could not have before. Customers love the prices that race to the bottom brings. 50 years ago dentist was a rich thing here in Brazil. Today dentists and orthodontists compete hard here for the market. Many more people get their teeth fixed. Only queen Victoria could get anesthesia in her time. Race to the top. Where is that top bar that says here is where the top stops since we have been higher enough? First we go up and domesticated horses. Then got rid of the donkey cart and horse drawn carriage going up to the train scale. Then was superseded by the private automobile and highway network. Then we got cleaner fuel without soot. Then we removed the Sulfur. Now people want to put the bar going hybrid cars Then people want to get rid of fossil fuels altogether Then they want electric cars but the electricity must be generated by the sun This all can be provided. IF, that is a big if, the economy is growing enough to pay for all the goodies. Once economy tanks, bar falls and people have to accommodate to a lower life style. That happens because while advanced societies are up on the scale, others are coming up and eating their income that paid for life style. That goes until all societies reach a balance. .
