How can someone that ignorant actually get to be "old"?

Because they are in the perpetual custodial care of the government. What a sad and pathetic existence that is based upon the utter dependence of the actions of the government.

"old" as I used it there is strictly a relative term, It's what we called the middle age single women when I worked in the pentagon.

But you're right . They had passed the age where they should have become aware and enlightened to what was going on in the world around them.

So the real question I guess is "How does one that old remain so ignorant?" :-)
