It took the Christian Church many centuries to climb out of the sex morass that Islam is still mired in. But at least they were fighting the words of the Priest hierarchy, not the words of their founder. In Islam's case, they are stuck with what is in the Koran. That is why it will take centuries, IMO, if ever, for Islam to reform. If Christianity was fighting "Jesus said it and I believe it," about subjugation of women, Western Civ would be in the same mess.
