I totally agree that would have been the best approach. People would be surprised, I suspect, at how much he paid as well as how much he contributed. And it would have shut them up. OTOH, it is going to be funny watching the media panic when they have to cover the release of Romney's 2011 return right as Obama's convention is getting underway. Do they gloss over the 2011 return to give Obama the coverage he wants, or do they cut away from the convention, breathlessly reporting Romney paid millions in taxes? It should be fun to watch. Every minute they bash Romney is a minute they aren't able to show Obama's stage show.
