>> There was nothing wrong with Carter's IDEAS.

This is just a matter of ideology. There are plenty of people who disagree with you about this.

>> Carter's failure was that he couldn't get anyone to follow his lead.

That's a pretty big failure for a president. In fact, the biggest one can have.

And unfortunately, Obama has failed in the same way (although Obama's failures have been more substantial because he not only failed at leadership but has totally failed in forcing his ideology on the country. The reality is the only thing that will survive the first month of Romney's presidency is the trillion dollars Obama wasted and unfortunately, there is no way to get that back).

Bentway,
There was nothing wrong with Carter's IDEAS. Carter's failure was that he couldn't get anyone to follow his lead. Carter didn't nearly destroy the country.
I don't know what "ideas" you're referring to.

If you're trying to say that Carter meant well, you of all people should know how meaningless that is.

Maybe the reason why Carter couldn't get anyone to follow his lead was because his ideas were stupid to begin with.

He continues to demonstrate that time and time again in his post-presidency. Haiti, North Korea, and recently Palestine are a few examples of his lunacy.

Yet the Democrats continue to hold him up as an icon of the party.
