I'm sorry, Murray seems to be positively gleeful about politicizing the issues he takes on . As for getting anything right, ain't gonna happen unless the current GOP and its institutionalized mindlessness on all scientific matters gets smacked down hard. And that's not going to happen any time soon, the propaganda machine at their disposal is pretty vast and effective.

We've already had the Murray conversation. In the 90s and he lost that conversation. The serious analysis of his work left his arguments as ideological backwaters. They were not deliberate, teen age deceptions on the level that Ferguson now works; but they were either inept uses of statistics or knowing uses looking for the best results, without carefully checking counter arguments. There is an academic literature which treated Murray's arguments with some respect but, as I said, left them defensible only on ideological grounds.
