John .. People learn to overcome fear. If you live in constant fear, day in and day out, you become calloused to that fear. Every citizen in the US knows their very life is on the line in every police encounter. That is the INTENDED method of control over us. Folks in law enforcement think "so what. They're supposed to respect us." and have very little thought about the long term implications. To maintain control through fear requires increasing amounts of intentionally inflicted fear. More power, more tanks guns and bullets .. just to teach the public proper fear. This morning, out of Chicago, the news is that the gangs no longer have any fear of police left.
