I'm not sure I'd want to live in Mississippi or Alabama with children if there were no national standards. I'm in agreement with you on a lot, but I think the Feds should at least have a Dept. of National Educational Standards.

I'm in favor of getting rid of dept of Education, because I think that should be a local issue. The other's I'm mixed. But I think we should get rid of Homeland Security and shrink our military by half. Agree. Lots of redundancy and inefficiency all around. Main things to me are if we cut the military in half, ended the stupid wars, let the Bush tax cuts expire and had those 10M+ added jobs we should have grown into by now most if not all of the budget deficit would disappear.
