A good question.
I'm not in their " loop" as it where so who knows. Ask our secretary of the treasury.. I'm sure he could tell you:-)
Bearded One , all I see is that under 16,000 they panic.
One day the US intervines in the evening session pumping up the cash S&P from 300 points lower to 400 higher from the NY close for no apparent reason. . Bingo. magically the markets stabilize.
A fews later the japan market sags below 16,000 again and this time the Bank of Japan floods the market with liquidity for no apparent reason. this dismiss all the rumors floating about yet flood the market..hmmmmm... strange coincendence in my view.

You slam it again... you keep it under for a good week hands running and watch for yourself.

It goes above the magical 16,000 and all this intervention ceases.

All I know is under the 16,000 level the big money gets nerveous.
