Seems to me an overturn is unlikely given the strength of the verdict.

I've seen too many curveballs to say that anything is for certain until the deed is done. Also, it doesn't have to be a complete overturn, maybe enough to whittle down this howitzer of a verdict into a water pistol. That's why is important for the judge to appear absolutely unbiased and the jury to be thoroughly scrupulous when arriving at the verdict so as to leave nothing for the higher courts to fault. All IMHO, of course :)
