To dismiss them as "go begging to churches", and only speak of the virtues of government, demonstrates the weakness of your position and hostility toward religious organizations. I'm not surprised by your hostility toward religious institutions, it's a common theme of Obama supporters. Charities are fine, but those old folks need guarantee's and that is what the New Deal gave them. And every western democracy has put social safety nets in place for a good reason. You apparently never thought about it.
