Oh gosh, I don't think that is true at all. Surely the majority of scientist works for industry. Think of all the scientist working in the medical fields and energy related fields. Well some in the oil fields are engineers, but industry employes a huge number of scientist. Look up any company's annual report and look at how much was spent on R&D. Who do you think does that work?
