This is as close to a Paris Hilton incident as the Canadian media will come. Maygan will now be famous, go on talk shows, write a book, make money and party. normal rule.. (you sound like me LOL) news.. 90% (I think I am being generous) nonsense.. 9% misdirection.. In Toronto the all news station puts the 'Entertainment' news on right before the biz news.. strategic ? I stopped listening.. it bugged me too much :O)

The reason is very simple. This reflects the state of.......................................................... consciousness of the broad populace. Consciousness likes to entertain itself, and the part of consciousness that entertains itself with profit-making can recognize both the entertainment value and the global state. The word entertainment does not automatically imply pleasure ....... just a focus of attention. A better word may be distraction. (But I suspect you already know this. :) )
