Craig- Enjoyed reading your comments re Brenda C. I agree she is a one woman gang, and has become the "go to guy" for the industry <g> . More troubling is that Ancor has failed to develop a clear and consistent marketing voice. We have seen some random comments from Carla K, Cal N, and Ken H but i can't detect any kind of a market focused message other than Gig IT the beatnik <g> . In the meantime Brocade has established itself as the market leader by almost any metric you care to name, with the exception of technology leadership. I believe Ancor has the edge in this regard, at least for the moment, and it cannot be discounted. The "better mousetrap" school of marketing is frought with peril, and history shows many failures, however i think [article of faith] that the building FC market momentum combined with the current product development-product evaluation cycle favors Ancor at this time. Brocade's revenue base is being driven by situations like SQNT and DEC where Ancor did not have a competitive product. That was the result of a selected product strategy that focused on the wrong area and represents a missed opportunity. However that is no longer the case, and i EXPECT that the MKII will win its share of competitions currently being evaluated. If this market is going to be as large as some of the pundits are starting to talk about then i feel the market will demand more that one significant particpant. I beleive that you can make consistent money as number one or number two in this market but that the rest of the pack will struggle. Right now you have to say that Ancor is competing for number two. They have the switch they wanted, and the management team they built. No excuses, at this point i say Just Win Baby. I remain convinced this race is far from over. Neil
