Try and follow the thesis of the conversation. You cannot guess about random independents when we are talking about scientist's

They were not random independents. They were scientists that belong to a left leaning association that is dominated by "scientists" in academia and government positions. The sample is tainted and not representative of the overall scientist population.

show me a poll that identifies whether the scientists are in the public or private sector and then you can start putting some weight to the results.

Well, you finally came up with the actual source of your statement! Therefore, I retract my statement that it was a lie.

"81% of scientists surveyed from the membership of the American Association for the Advancement of Science by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press in May and June 2009 identify as Democratic or lean Democratic" is true. And complete.
