So legalize it(heroin, cocaine) eh? The problem with that is it is easy to start and hard/impossible to quit. So addicts would have a life long low cost legal habit?. Sounds like tobacco and alcohol oligopolies might have a word to say here. It would make a known taxation base and you could price it just below the level at which smuggling is highly profitable(It is now priced way above that).

I feel that drug dealers are murderers at the distributed level. A shortened lifespan by 10 years is a 1/10th murder, sell to ten people and you are eligible for a full murder and the Singapore Slap.

Few innocents die in the drug war, mainly the growers/importers, and of course the addicts, and that total is far fewer than the holocaust total. However I would treat the drug pushers like the nazis, they would meet death for their actions where and whenever found and judged guilty.
