There is no incremental information in the data you supplied. There are many momentum-oriented mutual funds such as Kaufman's which will "invest" for the very short-term. They will turn on a dime at the first sign of trouble and you can be sure they will sniff out trouble way before the average individual investor. Take a look at their portfolio turnover rate for further information. I also opined about year-end window dressing and the December rally as additional reasons for Yahoo being in the 50's.

My discussion with William related to the fundamental valuation of Yahoo with a long-term view. Incidentally, can you find out how many pension funds and insurance companies (which are more representative of true institutional "investors") are invested in Yahoo.
