As for the general market here: I will continue to be bullish as long as all the doomsayers keep pound the table with one fist declaring pending inflation-and with the other fist declaring pending deflation.

I agree that the Asian countries problems are structural: organizational, governmental, tariffs, etc. The crisis they are now in is a necessary driver of reform. Long run, I think they will continue to grow for as much as the next 50 years.

Markets for drugs grows faster, as a result, than anyone can now imagine-with the added advantage that companies like Ligand et. al. will be able to shop for better requlatory environments, thus minimizing the negative effects on their value of FDA inertia. This will also drive FDA reform here and similar reform in Europe.

Result is that Ligand is a GREAT 25 to 50 year play. And Murphy (if he's still around) can finally crow that his targets were met. (:->)
