Most high tech people who live in NH and work in MA don't commute. They work from home and show up in office once in a week or so. :) And even when they do go to office, they usually don't go during rush hour. But then you have to go before 7am or after 10am (sometimes it clears earlier, but don't count on it) and return before 3:30pm or after 7-7:30pm.

If you don't have such flexibility, the commute is hell IMO. :)
