Hi Alex, Thanks a million for your post. It has certainly cleared up some nebulous or erroneous thoughts I have had regarding the Japanese economy. The Japanese have lots of cash! No wonder they don't seem to be worried about the Nikkei going down. But I wonder if they would remain as complacent as before once the Nikkei goes below, say, 13000. I marvel at your diligence and ability to seek out a wealth of interesting/instructive/informative posts and your being so nice in sharing them with your fellow posters on SI. Richnorth
