While it is true that the DIP is frequently rolled over into a exit loan, remember that a lot of the DIP lenders here were first lien owners and part of the purpose of the DIP was to pay down the first lien. The DIP in and over itself a super-duper-uber-maximum priority loan. It gets paid off one way or the other (such as exchanging it for a new revolver) before anyone else, and I do mean anyone else, gets a dime.
