I don't hate Microsoft and those who do should not be commenting on their technology because their emotions only get in the way.

Well, excuuuussssseeeee mmmmm eeeeeee!!! My term "hate" was used in a figurative context; but I suspect any reader of your prolific ramblings would conclude you were, indeed, a Microsoft hater.

It has taken Microsoft 8 years to bring NT into the enterprise as a small-scale networking OS for file and print sharing.

If you view NT in this light, it can only be out of ignorance. Again, NT offers what is required of an industrial strength NOS. I would suggest that a large portion of corporate America is coming to agree with me on this issue.

This, of course, just begs the question, "What NOS do you install for YOUR customers?". You've got 20-200 users out there, what do you put them on?

The fact that they tie their users to a physical machine is either a glaring technical failure to deliver on technology which has proven its importance since the late 70s, or whether that was a deliberate "keep them captive" move.

Back on the platform independence issue, again. You seem so stuck on what may be a relatively unimportant issue. Software developers and end users alike can be insulated from these concerns. And there are certainly much more important issues to address oneself to.

This is the kind of error I'd expect from you -- ignore the practicality in favor of the glitz. I think that's fine as long as you aren't spending MY money....

Rod,

Is or can Rhapsody be any better than NT? Is Rhapsody an appropriate OS for an enterprise network environment? TIA for your responses.
