yes, a fat pipe isn't going to change most the normal peoples use of pc...plus fat pipes was suppose to be here a 1 ago and it's still struggling.

People with have home entertainment ctrs for their
HDTV which is another technology that will be late.

The houshold will have 3 to 4 pcs in the future just like we have tv's and vcrs now.
Besides that...my guss is you haven't studied the p200mmx 899 pc...
I can think of several upgrade options already for that box...
the 799 pc that people are buying will eventually pass to the kids
since they don't need a p400 with 8 gig drive and 56k modem and 24 x cdrom<ggg>
I had both my kids on the pc when they were 3 and they are teens now.
No games..only learning games and learning projects...
So, now one of them teaches the football team algebra and computers
so they can keep their grades up and stay on the team<ggg>

An idiot can make a pc last 6 yrs before they give it away,

When they push that p200 down they will buy a $899 p300<GGG>
Whcih is also upgradeable....
and it will be from cpq again if dell doesn't wise up.
