Your problem is that you measure success in the wrong ways. Success for you is an ever increasing GDP

MM, there you go again..............you set up a faux position of mine.......a straw man........and then go ahead and argue it for the next 4 paragraphs. Its a typical R strategy that the wingers over on the FAMD thread use all the time.

Rs seem to be incapable of having a normal exchange of ideas and positions. Its why there is no chance of compromise.

For the last time, I will not argue with you when you set up a straw man argument. Its not constructive.

Bernanke is a Republican who was appointed by GW Bush. Who do you think he's going to vote for, as of now? It's easy to shoot the messenger (Bernanke). I bet Bernanke votes for Obama, and if he wasn't already leaning that way, the selection of Paul Ryan and the blame game for the S&P downgrade in the speeches Wednesday and Thursday would have convinced him.

In a throwaway line about not wanting to go to hell, and a little about fear of loss, Romney actually said he didn't make the right decision for a client because he let his religion and his fears interfere. The only possible defense of what he said, is that he was joking about religion and hell. Wrong group for that.

Even you might change how you vote by election day.

Don't you remember Henry Paulson telling his wife just as Lehman was about to not get a bailout, "I don't know. We have to pray."

That's the future we want to go back to? A President and cabinet members who "listen to a higher father". I don't think so.
