<<<<< Paulites in Washington state? Didn't you report they were, well, a little beyond quirky?>>>>

The "Paulites"? You mean as in Paul Lite? The only sane ones at the caucuses were the Ron Paul people and I say that in all seriousness. Standing on the other side of the room were the bible thumpers and their ideology that has nothing whatsoever to do with reality. Those bible thumping people don't want to govern - they want to change the world to their perfect perception.

I think that many democrats are misreading the mantra of many on the right - the non-bible thumpers. Many (but of course not all) want the government to shrink because it has to shrink. It's not a tax issue for many as much as a fiscal cliff issue. They believe - and rightly so I suspect - that if we tax the rich more, nothing else in government changes. That's NOT a fix at all but a feel good policy.

The problem we get into with these labels is that we paint the whole bunch on the right (or left) with the same brush. That is not only unfair - it is stupid. Stupid because both sides get locked into their respective ideologies. BOTH those perceived ideologies are wrong and in the end doomed for failure. People are all over the place with their ideas and importances. What, we can't even let people with ideas different than that perceived ideology of the left make their points even if they do so respectfully? Simpson and Bowles were able to talk together. What we can't? Any solution is going to take both sides. I see Romney able to do that. Ryan though may not last the full four years.
