This is the kind of thing that I really really don't understand.

Let's assume that Ryan knows the "real" answer on these points. If he's from Janesville, he know when the plant shut down. If he was on the Simpson-Bowles Commission, he knows how he voted. So just as a personal matter, I wonder how he convinced himself it was OK to say things he knew were provably wrong in front of tens of millions of people.

Why does he repeat these talking points that are so easily proven to be false or at the very least deeply misleading? If someone would like to defend Ryan on this point, please do. Either on the thread or via PM. I would like to understand this mindset. Well, I think I would like to understand it, maybe being mystified by if is better, I'm not sure.
