Gary, is it possible that CPQ understands "network" the same way as SUNW does? If so, their definition of "network" is different from telecom equipment vendors'.

from form def 14-a - 341 million, for the short answer.
in case you want anything else also, i included the section.

i do not know how you want to calculate the sale, because
offer was for .7 share of asnd for each share of cscc, and asnd
was almost 50 at the time, but dropped by the time of the
acquisition.

>>If some entity were to pay 8 x sales for ASND, that would be 8 x 1.2B = $9.6B. Divided by 200MM shares (per the recent ASND 10Q available on EDGAR), this translates to $48/share.

CPQ will have the currency.<<

Gary,

I don't see it as a question of who has enough money to buy ASND for $8 to $10 billion but who would be willing. Steve Forbes could afford to pay $200,000 for a new Buick but would he be willing?

Best to you,

LJM
