<<<<There is nothing that Democrats could possibly do to address the debt issue without GOP co-operation>>>>

Thing is we live in a democracy. Living in a democracy means that the people we elect to congress get to pass bills, collect taxes and spend money. Republicans have pretty much made their point clear that they aren't going to raise taxes. Unless people vote them out of office - not likely in my mind - that means one of two things. Either we can continue the deficit spending until we have break the bank - or we start spending less at the federal level. So we can bitch until we are purple in the face or we can start to accept the reality of where we are at with politics as they are. .........This is why I'm so damn mad at Krugamn. He gives people a false sense of hope. He pretends that if we just spend more the economy will spring back to life.

BTW, they're not afraid of Nordquist, they're afraid of losing their job. And they will if the raise taxes - thus the problem! Democracies suck huh. Should we try some other form of government for a while?
