There is no daylight between Ron, Rand, and Ayn. They all share some real looney world view that provides them very little wiggle room in a sane world.

I disagree with Mary's statement too--on the ground that world we live in is, collectively speaking, far from sane. We live in, to use a Western theological term, a "broken" world. It is very difficult to see how we get to a sane world from the place we are in today. It requires a leap of faith, something we have to do because there is no real alternative.

It reminds me of a poster from the Vietnam era--"Peace is the way, there is no way to peace." (Well, maybe except for RN and HK's "secret plan," lol.)

Either you don't know Ron Paul or you don't understand Ayn Rand as your statement is false.

You may not know this but Ayn Rand has been a significant influence among libertarians and American conservatives.. Ron Paul named his son Rand after Ayn Rand. Paul Ryan has said that reading The Fountainhead and Atlas shrugged inspired him to go into politics. He makes everyone that works for him read her books.

Ayn Rand philosophy states that compassion is immoral. You will have a very difficult time convincing me that anyone admiring Ayn Rand's core values can be taken seriously.

I think Ron Paul is against the military expenditure, not so much the military.

He is also an isolationist.

Problem is, the earth is now a global village, and we live or die together, so isolationism is a death nail.

<<Ron Paul is one of the very few congressmen who has been consistently against our huge military budget. Do you think that is a bad thing? Do you know how much money this country would have to spend on constructive ideas if we had the money to spend that now is funneled to the Military Industrial Complex supported by both parties and candidates for president? >>
