He wrote 17 drafts of that? Romney confused the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution. "... certain unalienable rights as codified in our Constitution." My guess is that Ann Romney intended to have a career, possibly in law or politics, and it got derailed when she got pregnant. She sacrificed her career for the certitude of a permanent deferment for Mitt from the draft. She got pregnant before Mitt got a high lottery number, which would have given him a deferment but not a permanent one. Being a missionary also gave him a deferment, for two years. Will the press ask him about it? Will the press ask Ann if she ever wanted to go to law school, or if she ever studied for the LSAT? During the comment about his mother's comment about women in public life, the PBS camera went to Ann Romney. Like a deer in the headlights.
