That's why I get such a kick out of the Imation LS-120/Superdisk ads which say, "When we designed our new high-capacity drive, common sense dictated we make it compatible with standard floppies." (I'm paraphrasing.) This is funny because 1) they had less to do with designing it than Iomega did, and Iomega decided it was a dead-end product, 2) the drive they depict is an external model and anyone who adds an external superfloppy already has a 1.44MB floppy. And of course, the 1.44MB floppy was not compatible with the original standard, the 5.25" floppy. But that didn't stop it from becoming the new standard. - Allen
