“Think of what was required to achieve that (NASA) mission"

A whole lot of taxpayer money and a whole lot of fighter pilots who were trained at taxpayer expense to shoot down other fliers in a war you prolly wouldn't like.

Thanks for the comments on Ayn Rand. My original disagreement with Mary was that she said there is "no daylight" between Ayn and Dr. Paul. I tried to argue that since one was a Christian and one a devote atheist that there had to be differences. On her second reply she added the name of Paul Ryan. I did not comment about Ryan as I don't know him well enough to have much of an opinion.

But Mary proves my point. Ryan and Paul are about as different as any two republican senators can be - so they both can't be Rand clones! Where they influenced by Rands views on Capitalism? Sure - and we all should be. BUT by taking the weirdness of Ayn Rands peculiar personal life and trying to make a comparison to anyone who happens to like free market Capitalism is dishonest. That was my point.

I think Rand would be completely appalled at what Capitalism has become in our country as corporations have so gotten ahold of our politicians and so bent the rules in their favor that we can hardly even recognize America as being capitalistic any more. THAT is the thinking of Rand that should be appreciated. Corporations and Government should NOT be in bed together. That is what Rand believed and that is what Paul believes and I think that is what all of us should believe. Because, if you forget this, we end up with foreign policy the favors the Military Industrial Complex. My gosh even Koan this morning the most liberal on this thread by his own admission seems to be saying Paul is wrong about reducing our military! The country is brain washed.
