<<<<<spending too much" is 1 million other's "that's my job", and we don't have a plan to do anything about that. We especially don't have a plan that involves spending money from the government to purchase infrastructure hardware, etc.>>>>

Well that a valid enough point for sure. But isn't that up to our leader to decide and make the case of what we spend our bucks on? You can bring our military home and pay them all to sit in the park and feed pigeons and there would still be a humongous dollar savings. It's just not the wages going to pay those people, it's the entire infrastructure in place to supply and try to rebuild in the most far out backward country in the world - almost. Let me remind you that the British tried and the Soviets tried. Afghanistan bankrupted the Soviet Union (and remember that the Soviets are now packing our stuff into space because we no longer have an operational way to get Americans there!!!!) And the importance of Afghanistan on the Brits should not be missed. What Brit was it that said the key to a successful foreign policy is....." to stay out of Afghanistan"!
