The numbers have some noise of around +/- 0.5. Obama's numbers have inched some more forward since the morning. We will see what happens after the Democratic convention.

The fly in the ointment for Obama is the rise in gasoline prices. It's what hurts a lot of the Democratic base, and while they will probably not vote for Romney, they may decide to stay home. And we know the Republican base is definitely not staying home. Bernanke's promise of QE3 may hurt Obama because it immediately boosts oil and gas prices along with other commodities, while the beneficial effects of QE3 will probably be felt well after the election. Ironically, Bernanke may be helping the people that promised to fire him, while trying to help the economy.
