I'll read it, but that was one U.S. business day ago and Bernanke posted and delivered his speech, the nervous investors sold on the "news" when it was posted and not yet spoken (a typical pattern) and the markets turned right around and closed solidly up. U.S. treasurys closed solidly up with declining rates through the day. Look at the 1-day graph.

English media have a distorted view of what is going on here, biased by what is going on in England.

Reread your posts in January.

Central banks may have succeeded in preventing a repeat of the Great Depression, but they cannot correct these underlying deficiencies. To think they can somehow magic away all our problems is to descend into the fantasies of the past.

That is all I expected at this point was avert a depression. On the ground I see more folks than ever desperate to put their cash to work which has helped some stabilize and even increase RE values plus reinvigorate parts of the broad RE economy a multiplier effect to at least positive GDP. Deleveraging continues from the excesses built up over multiple generations not something that reverses in a matter of a couple of years.. I bet you thought the economy was firing on all cylinders back in 2006 with the Bush tax cuts for the robber barons and stupid wars the biggest problems?
