I thought Romney's speech was very good. He finally stopped running away from religion, which I think is one of the chief causes he has often sounded inauthentic. Romney is a deeply religious Mormon. In this speech, he finally owned up to it, and told some touching autobiographical stories. Mixed in with campaign promises, and with the preceding convention speeches praising him, I thought it went over very well.

I can't fathom why the campaign hid the fact that Romney was a pastor until now. Did you know he was a pastor? He was a Mormon bishop, which is a pastoral position.

He was talking about the election of Obama, not Romney.

It's just as well. Romney sort of bombed, IMO.
I can't imagine how you could reach that conclusion. We must not have been watching the same speech.

BTW: Do you believe that Obama has ever "bombed?"

Oh gosh, ig.....You must not have watched the entire line up on all three nights....In context with the whole event, Romney's speech was not only good, but it was perfect for the convention. This wasn't a State of the Union speech....The entire Thursday evening was to showcase the type of man Mitt Romney is and why he is more than qualified for the Presidency. He did not need to compete with Obama's soaring rhetoric.....

Romney just needed to be himself. No deer in the headlights.....No apology for success.....just quietly competent, and I think he succeeded in that task.

We've all seen how far soaring and empty promises go.....let's try having a grown up in the room for a change....
