Do they not understand what these words mean? Frankly, I don't understand when we all got so stupid but dumb we are. Some news station asked people in the street where they thought places like Canada and Iraq and Europe were. More than one person put Iraq where AU is. Many did not know that Canada was north of us. Remember how Bush was told the name of the Canadian PM was a mustard and he believed them. It is shocking how uninformed Americans are of the world at large and about the basics of every day living. My German and Israeli friends were surprised when they met me..............they had never met an American who knew what was going on beyond our borders. Fortunately, we have a cadre of smart people who do most of the heavy lifting.
