John - I'm talking about margins and dollars/unit. What does a copy of WIN95 sell for compared to the monthly rental for MVS on a mainframe? Of course MSFT/INTC sell millions of units and are great companies, but that's not the point. Dell and CPQ make money on their PC's but the BETTER money and margins is in the server area, (upmarket). It will be interesting to see how NT can compete at the very high end in coming years, right now they are not in the same league from a scalability and reliablity viewpoint, but from what I understand NT is slowly getting there....
