The reps have a record to run from. That's never a Good Thing.

the trouble is, most voters suffer short attention spans, especially republicans. this whole friggin mess the past 30 years has the DNA footprint of incompetent republican presidents.
I would probably excuse Bush Sr. from it all but that 1st Iraq war is especially problematic...it appears that basically we whored for Saudi Arabia. We were the Saudi's paid mercenaries. Does anyone remember April Glaspei?
republican presidents are an embarrassment.
(kind of weird, in retrospect R.Nixon actually appears very moderate by today's standards. His paranoia was his undoing.)

Hillary is absent for the Dem convention. This past year, my hopes of her as V.P. are getting stronger. A few years ago, a peer vote in the U.S. Senate had her as an -A. She was effective. As the Sec of State she is way beyond her recent contemporaries. She does wield a lot of attention, a lot of influence wherever she goes.
it is my hope the Democrats draft her for V.P. It would be nice to see Bill back at the White House.
