Well, taking the labor day weekend off would fit with a class struggle business mentality. It celebrates an event they wish to shun and have a very hard time talking platitudes about. And if their speeches fail to celebrate it, the media notes it. Definitely a negative among the dwindling band of angry white males (to quote Lindsay Graham).

<<"Romney took the weekend"

No serious pol I can think of takes Labor Day off. Must be a sense of entitlement.>>

Romney hates unions, it would be weird if he celebrated labor day.

I like how the pubs tried to change labor day, to small business day.

Labor Day celebrates the power of working men and women. Specifically, union men and women.

The Romney family probably has a day of mourning in observance.
