Damned fool.

The first wave of US environmental policy in the late 18th and mid-19 century promoted land settlement and resource extraction. Thank manifest destiny.

The second wave promoted conservation e.g. National Parks & Forests, soil conservation, etc. Thank the likes of John Muir,Teddy Roosevelt, Gifford Pinchot, etc.

The third wave tried to address pollution and other environmental problems. Thank Rachel Carson, Aldo Leopold, etc.

We'll have the Kochs and their pawns to thank .... for what I shudder to think.
