SEE - Anyone know if SEE has a preferred? The message board seem to mention the preferred as safer/better investment but I fail to find a preferred listing for SEE.

Reuters: Sealed Air near deal to sell cleaning and chemicals systems unit

Sealed Air (NYSE:SEE) is in exclusive talks to sell its Diversey Care cleaning and chemicals systems division to P-E firm Bain Capital for $3B-$4B, Reuters reports.

SEE could announce a deal with Bain before the end of this month, but the company would revert to its previous plan to spin off the unit if negotiations were to break down, according to the report.

A month ago, German consumer conglomerate Henkel reportedly was in talks to buy the unit.

There is interest in their assets so I wonder where the PE firm is finding value. EPS looks good as do their margins. GN is well below the market price at $13.91/share. Maybe $4.36bln of debt is not too large given the $12.74Bln Enterprise Value (about 30% debt).

It looks like they may be buying one of the more profitable units. I wonder if they have a deal lined up w/ Henkel to sell some or all of those assets..
