Everyone goes to their family first--if their family has something to give. It doesn't matter what ethnic group it is. Jewish people have always gone to family first and then their Jewish community (either synagogue or some Jewish charity that the community set up) afterwards, but remain liberals in outlook.

You could be right. It is hard to guess what anyone will do as we evolve and assimilate.

And the latino culture is going to change a lot with access to education and new highly educated leaders like the Castro brothers.

I thought it was amazing when the African American community swung 30? points on gay marriage in just weeks after their leaders told them it was a civil rights issue.
