I understand why Intel wouldn't want to raise the Pentium MMX to 300Mhz but they may decide to based on manufacturing cost vis a vis the Pentium II and if the K6 takes hold in the sub $1000 market.
Maybe? Probably not.

BTW, Isn't Tillamook scheduled for 300 MHz and beyond. This is a Pentium MMX, right?
