Overall, the South sans FL seems to be the region recovering the slowest from recession.

I hate to even bring this one up but could part of it be due to politics and by that I don't even directly mean favoritism by the administration towards crucial swing states. Maybe moderates and liberals so turned off by right wing bible thumpers they refuse to do business with them, to invest or relocate their families and (or) businesses down south like they did during the hyper growth post WW2?

I don't know what the problem is. AR and TX are doing great........the rest not so much. Like I said before, GA is a weak third. That's why I keep asking......obviously you are in FL........but if someone from the South is posting, it would be nice to hear what they see locally.

We know MS, AL and LA tend to lag the rest of the nation. but the states that surprise me the most are NC and GA. Both should be doing much better than they are. Even GA I understand a little bit.......its more heavy industry and Atlanta is getting crowded. But Charlotte, Raleigh etc and some of the other cities in NC that have tech should be doing pretty well by now. Still NC's unemployment rate is above 9%.
