Warren: Americans Too Stupid for Student Loans Sure, that's what we send them to college for. To become too stupid to handle a loan. Inch by inch, the old Blue State Model is becoming a parody of itself. Used to be, politicians would claim that while the average Mr. and Mrs. Smith or Jones could certainly manage for themselves, government had to step in to protect the poor illiterate washerwoman from the corner loanshark. Now, everybody is stupid enough to need government protection.
